Being a Girl in the city is fun. I may not have a lot of money, and my way of living may not be very glamorous, but I definitely do enjoy my day to day life.
My day normally starts at 9 in the morning. I set my alarm to wake me up at 9 in the morning. I normally snooze in the bed for about five minutes after the alarm goes, and then I get on my feet. After a quick shower and a cup of coffee, I am dressed and on my way to work. I work at a restaurant where I am a cashier typically engaged on an 8-hour shift, between 10.30 in the morning and 6.30 in the evening.
Previously, I used to commute to work using the bus, but with the introduction of the very affordable Uber taxis, I am now able to occasionally get to work using a taxi.
My work is part of the fun: the folks I work with are generally very nice (including the supervisors, thankfully), and most of the customers I serve generally go out of their way to be nice to me.
My after-work activities vary from day to day. On one day, I may go to a movie with a friend, on another day, I may entertain friends at home, while on yet another day, I may travel out of town for a picnic.
All in all, I make a conscious decision to enjoy my life, knowing that life is not a rehearsal. Whatever I do, I try to be in bed by 1.00 in the morning, in order to get at least 8 hours of sleep by the time I wake up at 9 the next morning. And after that, on the next day, the cycle repeats itself.
