I had a lot to celebrate yesterday, and I had many of my loved ones in town to celebrate with me which made the day even more special. Of course, yesterday was Mother’s Day, and I just so happen to have the best mom. She has always been completely selfless and loving and she has taught me so much about life, faith and relationships. I aspire to be more like her everyday. Thank you for being you, Mom!
Remember my gift guide? This is the cute dress I picked out for Mom. What do you think?
Yesterday was also special because FMK graduated from Columbia Business School. I am so proud of him, and I can’t wait to start the next phase of our lives together!

I snapped these pictures in our new apartment before heading to work yesterday morning. The beautiful view of the city gives me a renewed energy and passion. But, more on the apartment later…
I love shirt dresses because they are so easy to throw on, but you still look and feel sharp. The little extra coverage the sleeves provide make the outfit feel complete for a day in the office, no need to layer over a blazer or cardigan.
Of course, I think accessories are the best part of the outfit so I played up the purple with colorful jewelry and my yellow work tote. Accessorizing is another great way to test the color-block trend. Pair your solid color dress with another bold color shoe and an even different color handbag to change up the feel of your dresses this summer. (I can’t wait to wear this dress with my new green shoes!)

I don’t often admit this, but this weekend I think I took on a little more than I should have. We spent all Friday night doing last minute packing before the movers arrived on Saturday morning, moved on Saturday and biked 42 miles on Sunday in the 5 Boro Bike Ride! I don’t regret any of it as we are so excited to be in our new place and the bike ride was an amazing experience, but I am feeling exceptionally exhausted this Monday morning.
Needless to say, I don’t have a new outfit post for you today, but I do have a few pictures we took along the way on Sunday’s ride. The tour took you through all five New York boros (hence the name). It was such an amazing way to see the area, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day. You can see our path below, and you can find a little more info on the bike tour here as I HIGHLY recommend you all do it next year!
